I use a similar one that cost about $60 a few years ago. I figured that plugging it in to use it wasn't a big deal as it's not used regularly. And I didn't have to worry about the battery being charged when I need it.

I would not use a standard air compressor. They tend to include moisture and or oil in the air. Not something that I want to blow on electronics, etc.
