I like my truck. I have a few classic rides, but these days they're stored in the barn and I rarely drive them. I drive a '17 Chevy Silverado that I bought new in '18. It has 4 wheel drive and is a regular cab, which I prefer, as it has a 34 gallon gas tank and a full size bed.
That said, I'm in snow country and I absolutely love 4x4! And a 34 gallon gas tank? Retired Rick-o likes the idea of not having to stand at the pump in sub zero blizzard type weather. I can go literally months between fill ups. When it's time to haul something, (talking about you, sheet stock) I never worry about transporting it. Also, I've been know to transport a load of firewood now and then. As a full sized guy, I also like having some extra cab room.
I'm old, and I'm not changing my ways. A pickup suits my needs best. I just wish I could turn the clock back and go back to a time when you only saw a random truck or two in a parking lot. Maybe the gol-darn prices wouldn't be so high if the manufacturers didn't try to turn a truck into the family hauler.
