Did the cancel/renegotiate thing this afternoon.
Short version: I got 3 years for $99 including taxes and fees.
Started a chat with the bot to cancel. The first offer the bot gave me to stay was either $8.99 or $5.99 plus fees (I can't remember which). I said "no" and the offer was decreased to $4.99. I still said no and the bot asked me what I was looking for. I said 3 years for $99.
Then the bot sent me to a human. I was fully prepared to cancel and go without for a while before getting a new subscriber deal since I had read that they often wouldn't give current subscribers that deal. But I ended up not having to do that. The human said $4.99+ was the best deal he could offer. I said "No, thank you. I'd like to cancel." He said hold on, then came back a couple minutes later and said his supervisor had approved the 3yr/$99 rate.
