My rowing machine uses power generated by the user to recharge the batteries in the performance monitor (LCD control/status screen).
Never needs batteries. I did have to rebuild the rechargeable battery pack after about 14 years when the rechargeable cells stopped holding a charge.
BTW: I bought some Amazon Basics UPS's recently, they're not Pure Sinewave, and although they don't say it, I'm pretty sure that they're made by CyberPower.
