This thread makes me sad, and on so many fronts.
First, why is what we drive so important to anyone?
Second, moving towards sustainable energy such as going to EVs is critical for our future on Planet Earth.
Lastly, that there so much angst over Tesla - on either or both 'sides'. I really like our Teslas, and I find the CEO to be obnoxious and deeply polarizing.
I have issues with a number of corporate CEOs - starting with Mark Zuckerberg.
But I also deeply object to vandalism of any kind, even were it targeted against MZ etc.
So far, my wife and I have not had any incidents. But we are ground zero for Tesla, and I suspect any such vandalism would attract a LOT of negative press against the vandal(s).
It's something people know he cares about. There's a lot of youth out there with a ton of energy to burn. They're not always rational.
It's kinda like when people protest about something important and as a consequence, stores get looted and buildings are burned. People hate that (why are they burning down their own community???) and they fixate on the looting as if it combusted out of nowhere, for no reason.
I could see this coming from how Elon handled the Pandemic and when he called that guy a child molester. He was losing it then. We're just little people. We can't control others. We do know that chaos begets chaos. He's impatient and doesn't like hurdles and impediments blocking his vision.
