For many peeps, they can be a big saver of $$$... but the notion that they are "free to use" is kind of a misnomer.

wifes coworker did the 100 mile a day commute 5 days a week, plus lived in the semi-boonies. her tesla has saved her prob a ton of $$. but in a specific use case... maybe not as much as one might think.
