I have maybe three Willie Nelson CDs, but the one that gets the most play, and a lot of it, is Stardust, the album that almost never was.
Sort of.
Columbia suits didn't want him to do an album of standards, but he said yes.
They didn't want him to release the album without his picture on the cover art, but he said yes.
And when releasing the album in 1978, they released fewer than normal for him.
The album when on to become quintuple platinum in 1988, and certified so in 2002.
The album is a little over 36min, but I'll play it on shuffle for two-three hours.
Thank you, Mr. Nelson.
