How to "fill in" stone with epoxy with large missing pieces

I've got a granite slab with missing pieces and I'm hoping to make a table or reuse it for something. But, I have to fill gaps with something to make up the space. Suggestions? 

i'd post a photo but have to downsize it first which means some work which i will do at some point.

Seems to me in the back recesses of my foggy memory I've seen, read, or heard, about somebody using stone dust (in your case it would be granite) with epoxy to make a filler.
