Another death in the family :-(
#1
Two Smurfs in one week! Argh!!!

My mom called this morning to complain that her computer wouldn't stay running.
( I just replaced the HD that had a failing SMART warning and installed a new Pioneer 112D DVD burner last week)

Did all the basics + swapped out RAM with know good sticks, changed out the processor and the video card. It won't stay running for more than about 7-10 minutes and then spontaneously restarts.

She has been having trouble with the machine for the last 6 months and I have been trying to get her to buy something new. She finally caved in this morning and said OK but she didn't want a brand new Mac.

I checked my regular online sources and the pricing disaster model that is eBay and gave her a list of choices, she picked option number 4.

2002 Quicksilver with Sonnet G4 /1.42 upgrade, 1.5GB RAM, 128MB ATI 9800Pro, 2 x 120GB Hitachi HD's, Pioneer 110D DVD, Tiger Install Disc, Keyboard & Mouse for ...$345 shipped!!!
