I am glad it worked out, Peter! That's wonderful. The Maryland SPCA is a good outfit.
People do return animals. My boy Moose was one of three cats, and the family could only keep two when they moved, so they turned Moose into the SPCA. I don't know how they made that choice.
I have turned a couple of stray dogs into the SPCA, and when they couldn't help one of them--he was too old to be adoptable--they called and I went back and got him, and he stayed with me for a couple of days till he found a permanent home.
