Update:
Reported Pittsburgh Gunman May Have Been Shooting Birds

PITTSBURGH -- Police said a reported sniper in downtown Pittsburgh was actually a man on a rooftop shooting pigeons with a pellet gun that had a scope on it.
Police cordoned off several downtown streets and searched several buildings after a 911 call reporting a possible sniper about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Police Chief Dom Costa didn't immediately say if charges would be filed. It is illegal to shoot a regular gun in the city limits, but at this point police are saying it's not illegal to use a pellet gun.
Police determined what actually happened about three o'clock when they located the gunman's supervisor, who told police the man sometimes brings the pellet gun to work.
Street closings backed up traffic for miles on a couple of major arteries, but traffic was returning to normal as police lifted roadblocks.
PS: We're not doing the "respond-so-the-thread-descends-into-personal-invective-and-then-disappears " thing today.
