There are two problems that I'm aware of. Both of these you can avoid.
I've not had direct experience with either of these two issues, but I've read about them.
1. Don't insert the mini-CDs. These are business card-sized CD-ROMs. They won't eject back out.
2 Don't insert CDs/DVDs that have adhesive labels. These would be done with a do-it-yourself labeling kit. If the label peels up while it is in there, the CD/DVD will stick inside the drive.
Other than that, I like the idea of a slot-loader in a laptop. The tray on my iBook always feels so fragile. I'm with Paul F. on that.
