Seriously, why not send the Money Order to her home if it might get lost at the office. You could also keep the stub of the Money Order and ask then later the post ofice if it got cashed, if not you can get a refund (up to 12 months I believe). But check withe the post office to make sure, I actually never did this but I was told I can get my money back if the MO got lost.
EDIT: This is VERY nice of you. Not many people would do this, especially these days when everyone wants to maximize their "profits" (oops, earnings).
