Interesting alternative to a set top PVR

The nice thing about set-top PVRs (generally not including cable company boxes) is that they allow you to skip over content you don't want to see. For the huddled masses this might be OK, but I'll stick with my ReplayTV until they pry it from my cold...etc. There's no way I would ever get another service that forced me to watch commercials. I'd rather pay for the content than suffer through that again.
