Can Tiger network with OS 9.1?
#2
There's no reason for such a problem to arise from an upgrade to 10.4 from 10.3.

In all likelihood, there's an issue with file sharing or networking on the old Mac. Double check that TCP/IP file sharing is enabled in the File Sharing control panel and check all of your cables.

If that's not it, you'll need to provide more information about your setup -- what kind of network do you have going there? Using a router? What kind? Which model Mac is running 9.1? Have you performed any other upgrades recently on either Mac? Does either one have trouble connecting to the 'net?
