If you can believe it...I have been using 10.4.6 and can still connect to an OS 8.6 box (old Beige G3) that is still running a webserver (WebStar). It just shows up in my network when I click 'Browse' (or directly type in the IP addy). Volumes mount just fine from the 8.6.
