Yep, it seems to all be part of the Lost Experience online game...
It apparently started earlier in the UK, so they have a "jump" on us...
It's either a brilliant strategy on the part of the producers (way to add an additional level of interest on the show, as if the fans weren't rabid enough!) or incredibly stupid-- I tend to think the former rather than the latter. They're tapping into the fan base's natural tendencies toward curiosity and imagination... there are whole sites now devoted to analyzing every clue! It's the modern equivalent of the murder mystery, with thousands (millions?) of online participants.
