What OS version supports Java J2SE JRE, can Jaguar?
#1
I am using a Wallstreet G3 300 running OS 10.2.8 with 288 MB RAM and the latest version of Firefox.

I need to print postage through PayPal and the pop-up window says I need Java J2SE JRE (ie the Java 2 runtime environment).

I only have this issue for Priority Mail International labels -- the older interface for printing USPS domestic labels doesn't need this and still works fine for me. The PMI product is new since May, and I guess they used newer software to write it.

Which version of OSX supports the Java 2 runtime environment? I looked for upgrades/updates at Apple, and for Jaguar they just have a Java 1.4.1 Update 1 for Mac OS X. I installed it, but it doesn't help. I also found the Java EE 5 SDK Update 3, but this appears to be an update for an enterprise edition that I don't have (of course).

The last time this happened to me, I was able to get a friend to print the postage from a machine running Tiger, but I don't have this option today.

Even the computers at my public library apparently don't have Java 2 Sad

Any help? If I can't print it out by 6PM, I will have to void the label and pay real money at the Post Office.

Thanks.
