FU to "iBook worth $800?"

I see your point, but I still believe its a market-decides thing. I remember selling two original (toilet seat) iBooks on eBay; they were in really bad shape (they were not originally mine; I'm far too O/C for that). I stated in the auction they were not IMO worth more than $40 or so but each sold for about $125, if I remember correctly. I still chat with one of the buyers who uses it in the field and says it still works great.

So, no, I don't think it's dishonest if you're honest in your listing and how you approach the sale. A $1 opening bid with no reserve and an accurate description is about as honest as you can get in terms of a listing. I usually also list the list price, street price, and sometimes what I originally paid for the item, in addition to its age.

You're not getting more than an item is worth, you're getting what the bidder believes the item is worth, or at least what it's worth to them.
