Making DVDs from TIVO or Dish Recorder
#5
I have an older DTiVo - just drop in a CacheCard with ethernet. Run TiVotool (must upload one file) and download to iPod or iTunes or make DVDs.

With Tytool on Windowe you can edit out commercials and make a DVDs with simple menus.

The new units are harder to hack - so the stand alone DVD player is not a bad way to go. The Magavox unit gets Ok reviews and runs just under $100 at WallyWorld/Sam's World.

Firewire video capture is an option - can eyeHome do something with video capture?
