Playing Movies in Quicktime Question
#2
is it an honest to goodness mpeg-1 file? If so, the mepg stream is probably damaged. QT doesn't handle damaged streams very well at all.

There are some options to fix it. one is to demux the file, and have separate audio and video tracks. That sometimes will solve the problem.

Another cause is that the header info present at the front of all mpeg files may be incorrect. Lots of the freeware apps for PCs that can join mpeg files mess up the headers of the individual clips when they are joined. WMP and some of the other media players don't have the problems that QT does with these damaged or incorrectly joined mpegs. It is usually caused by ignorant PC users using mediocre or poorly written joining apps.
