This is a single display running off a desktop unit. There is no mirroring or extended destop. But thanks for the advice.
I have been thinking about your problem and it reminded me of something that I saw a couple of years ago on a PC laptop. It made me wonder if your problem (feature) isn't tied somehow to the Intel graphics chip.
Anyway, I'm going to try some of the suggestions and post back.
