Not happy with the quality of text on my new 17" Samsung LCD, Suggestions?
#24
[quote Baby Tats]OK nothing has helped.

So should I look for a GeForce2 MX or something from ATI? Is it better to use the AGP slot or the PCI slot? And is there a flashed PC card that would fit my needs that's available pretty cheap? I will probably be buying used on eBay or if any of you have something then PM me.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

You need an AGP card if you want Quartx Extreme support (there were some hacks floating around to enable on a PCI bus, but I think it may have caused other problems).

The other issue you'll have is that most all the flashed PC Geforce cards on ebay will have a VGA port only (no DVI). And most of the Mac system pulls will have a VGA and an AGP connector (I have one in a box around here somewhere), so you may not be able to avoid getting an ADC to DVI adapter. Maybe one of the twinview cards from later Macs would have an ADC and a DVI connector ... not sure on that.
