[quote graylocks]Week View works a little better but it still takes a bit more manipulation than the task should warrant and i prefer being able to see a month at a time.
Saying things like this -- which reveal a PROFOUND ignorance about iCal (hint: there IS a month view! By default, even!) -- tells me that you just can't be arsed to really sit down with it or -- gasp -- read the help file. You've pre-determined that you don't like it, and so you ignore features like the LENGTHY notes/comments -- which would give you FAR more room for logging than the OS 9 program did -- and which are visible in month view. The screenshot below might prove it to you, but I'm probably wasting my breath.
There's an old saying: "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink." So I'm done here. Good luck finding a program that just instructs you on its use by telepathy and is intuitively perfect for your needs with no config required.
