oh chas_m , you're such a curmudgeon sometimes. ;-)
iCal is simply overkill for what i need this to do. i did look at month view. i played with the extensive 'notes' section. with my little OS 9 calendar i can notate in each day's square and get a quick, once glance snapshot of what the workload for that month has looked like. it is useful for me to be able to do that.
there are a lot of great calendar apps out there. believe me, i checked out quite a few. there probably isn't much need for something as basic as i'm wanting to do with this old OS 9 app.
