Okay so I stopped by TJ Maxx after work today and there's this 14-year-old kid and his mom in the young men's section. Kid is trying on various jackets/shirts/sweatshirts and discarding them indiscriminately...not hanging them back up, just kind of tossing them around on the racks and some things even on the floor. I probably wouldn't care if it was just one or two items but this kid really made a mess (and a lot of extra work for the employees) of that whole department...then I ran into them later near the Home department and the kid was still leaving a trail of havoc. Mom was apparently oblivious to all this.
I came "this close" to tactfully saying something to him/his mom...but I did not. Given the same situation again, I WILL say something. Yeah, in the big scheme of things maybe it's no big deal, but what bugs me is this kid (and his mom) left a HUGE mess which makes it harder/annoying for the rest of us to shop not to mention the extra work for the clerks.
I did say something to the checkout gal, and she said, yeah, a LOT of people do that and the clerks and managers find it even more annoying than I do. Just curious if anyone else feels the way I do. Or not. Happy shopping.
