is it acceptable to skip a wedding & go to the reception?

It is bad form, IMO, to skip the wedding and only go to the reception. That is the same thing that I told my daughter a couple of years ago when she was invited to a lot of her friend's Bar and Bat mitzvahs. If you are going to the party later, then you have to go sit through the service that morning. Many of her friends would just cut the ceremony and only go to the party, which I thought was wrong. Just my opinion, though.
I sort of agree, but don't think this is universal-- I'd feel them out about it if you can come up with a creative way to do so.

Am I the only one who finds a wedding ceremony less boring than a reception?
