The way I've always done my pictures on eBay is to build up one large composite using Photoshop. I make the canvas size say 10"x14" and then fill it with 4 to 10 smaller shots as needed to show the various details . I save it at the lowest resolution jpg which will end up being 200K or so, small enough for dial up users but still looks fine on screen.
I sometimes use a single picture for the gallery shot but often just use the same composite. This was my get around because of lack of Mac support some years ago, and then to avoid the extra fee's per photo.
