Ah, but what will "Little Guy" think about this?
My friend had a stray dog turn up at her place a few weeks ago. She kept him for a while, but she already has three other dogs and didn't really want a fourth. Last weekend she was firmly convinced she'd found the right home for him. The man picked up the dog (who was being called "Hal") on Sunday afternoon, with everybody thinking this was a match made in heaven - and older gentleman, retired, and with a nice big fully fenced yard. Monday morning my friend opened the door to leave for work and found Hal standing outside, tail wagging and tongue hanging out. Sunday evening, when he'd been put out for a few minutes to go potty, he'd managed to find the one loose board in the new owner's fence, and then he spent all night traveling the 8 miles to get right back to her place. They forgot to ask Hal if he was interested in moving, I guess.
