Well Vista RC1 and RC2 are both time "bomb" limited, they will stop working sometime after MS ships Vista. Or work in a crippled fashion.
And most people who have an intel based Mac don't need another computer, cheap or not. And where did you read that Vista will be a free upgrade to XP? That's news to me!
$83 is cheap for XP Pro, and I've bought from Whitebox before without any problems.
