OWC PCI SATA & Seagate 320 SATA not happy
#23
First off - until recently, the version of SIIG card was both OS 9 and PCI v2.1 compatible... about a year or so ago they changed to a new revision which is not OS 9 compatible and does not work in systems older than B&W G3s reliably.

It was actually a surprise 'oh by the way' change on their part.... If you're SIIG card is working - then - it's the older version and not the new version.

As for our SATA card - it's listed compatible with the Blue & White G3 and later only (...and PCs with PCI 2.2 compliant slot available) because it is NOT reliable with prior Macs that do not have PCI 2.2 compliant slots. We did test and verify - and if it was ok for prior makes, we'd list it for them. It's actually hard anymore to get the chipsets for PCI 2.1 support that mesh with the other components for current stuff.

If you have the SIIG card that is ok - go back to that for the old the Beige G3 or 7600... and move the SATA card to something B&W G3 or later... or return it. The square peg not going to fit in that round hole. sorry.
