My memory from Dealmac days that there were fairly regular threads discussion the merits of 1800memory (I am guessing that is the same place, and they operated under several names). So you might want to search back over there if you are really interested. People had mixed experiences, and there were definitely reports of some significant problems. It is a weakness of this forum that this history and experience of various online venders is not better remembered and monitored.
Obviously, OWC sells ram, and that is where I buy my ram even if it costs a bit more. I had to send a chip back under the warranty last fall, after I had used it for over a year. So ram can have hidden hard to find or notice problems that can crop up later down the road (I think the upgrade to 10.4.8 knocked out my ram chip for some reason).
Datamem is also highly regarded.
