Oy. I suspect you may have gotten the storm on Tuesday that nailed NY yesterday. Not a lot of snow but tons of freezing rain and ice, all of which made for dangerous driving. That you could get to work and back is irrelevent. Same goes for other drivers. If Fedex Ground felt it was better to delay the delivery then that's their decision. You don't have to agree with it but at least give them a bit of a break. It isn't like it was delayed on a beautiful sunny day.
