DO NOT buy a CRT tv ever again.
If you are in serious need for a television now. Ask co-workers and relatives if they have one you can borrow or even have for free. Almost everyone i know has an old CRT taking up space in the garage or basement. (Something that still kinda works, missing a remote maybe?) They'll be glad you're taking it off their hands.
Last year, i moved out of a 5 story walk up building. Instead of breaking my back and hauling out the 8 year old Sony XBR. I sold it on Craigslist and had the buyer move it out and down the stairs. Instead of buying a new one, i swiped an old CRT from my parents place to hold me over until these prices settle down. You won't regret it.
