Jeez, you go back a few decades and stuff was cheaper. A cup of coffee was 25 cents instead of $2.50. People were content to pay for joe with coins; there was no great clamor for a paper quarter.
And please, let's just get rid of the freaking penny already. They cost more than a penny to make. That's dumber than a dollar coin.
I can't help but laugh whenever the dollar coin comes up, and you hear the two most common complaints: They weigh too much! and They should be bigger! Sometimes it's one person expressing both sentiments.
And while we're on the subject, I'm glad the $2 bill is making such a strong comeback. I guess the exotic dance industry really can be good for society.
