As far as racism, I hope that was a joke. I respect Danny for all his photo advice he has given over the years, among other things, DMP.... Just got tired of his hangup on the It's got a HEMI thing. Especially when everyone has ignored little sweetheart Toyota and Nissan which entered the maket 2(?) years ago.
The marketing doesn't pair up as much with what consumers want in the face of higher gas prices and oil uncertainty.
If they were profitable instead of cutting 10K+ jobs, no one would be talking about it. We didn't talk about this 5 years ago because people were buying big trucks and obscenely large SUV without fear.
Nissan is no model of profitability. The only reason they are still in business is they got bailed out.
IMO, Toyota is striking a balance in their marketing. No one is criticizing them at the moment because they are not in danger like the big 3 have put themselves in with all eggs in one basket.
