I guess the RIAA is happy to have only 10 artists that make $ for anyone including the artists themselves.
3 major broadcast radio owners, 4 labels. Not unlike the Gang of Four that led another "cultural" revolution.
Fortunately, listening to my old vinyl is free, I can transfer to a CD for more private listening and I never have to buy another CD again. What a way to promote new artists.
And there doesn't seem to be a way that the individual artist can bow out of the RIAA mandate. So if one were to podcast, they couldn't do so with "unsigned" or indys.
