[quote lafinfil]Are your macs connected to the internet ?
Do you have the mac set to set time automatically from the network server ?
If the answer to either of these is "no" - then you will not have the correct time
The mac doesn't have any imbedded time chip (at least that I'm aware of)
wow....the amount of flat-out bad information that gets spewed on the net is just amazing.
(pssst--yes, your computer has a clock inside it, plus a small flat battery to run the clock and some other things)
This reminds me of the discussion about "here are the five ways you can lock your Prius," in priuschat's forum under the topic of "most obscure Prius facts (way out there)". One of the "obscure, way-out" ways described by a 60 year old man: "5. I just discovered (red) button by interior door handle."
wait for it...
then someone else says, "I'd never noticed the red button...I'll have to check out the red button. Thanks for the new info."
wait for it.....
then finally someone explains: "It's basically the door lock itself lol. It has a red sticker so you know whether it's in the lock or unlock position."
Ohmigod, by that time I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand it. A group of grown people were discussing the DOOR LOCK button as being "obscure and way-out there", not having any clue what it is. And had never read the manual to their shiny, expensive toy.
I do believe the Macintosh manual speaks to the fact that it has a built-in clock.
This makes me wonder how people get up and make it through the day.
