I bought my wife a new Al 2.0 imac (3g ram, latest leopard) two months back and it has seemed sluggish from day one.
Compared to my macbook 2.0 it is dog slow, even on the iWork and iLife apps it is a little slower, though not as much.
But the biggest complaint is the performace with CS 2. Indesign CS2 bounces 40 plus times in the dock before launching, Illustrator takes about a minute to get to the splash screen as does photoshop.
Other issues include out of memory errors when exporting documents to pdf.
I have been afraid to uninstall and reinstall the CS2 suite since my wife, a graphic designer, is near the end of a project on deadline using these apps.
My wife, who depends on me for the tech stuff, is pissed and hates this machine.
I have run diskwarrior but nothing seems to help.
Should I call Apple before my 90 days phone support is up just to make sure it is not the machine?
