First off - we are here for everyone. I am sorry for any hold time, although I am not aware of times exeeding 5-10 minutes during normal hours.
Regardless... The PowerLogix site has had info about CPUD on the front page linked:
http://www.powerlogix.com/products/cpudi.../1049.html
since 10.4.9 came out.
We are in the process of developing the 10.4.9 update.
CPUD is offered as an OPTIONAL, FREE Utility for Power Saving management of NewerTech G4/7447 and G4/7448 Upgrades. The application is not something we charge for nor guarantee updates for - we simply can not due to what Apple is doing with OS X.
CPUD is not required for use of any NewerTech upgrade. Again, it is an optional use program. It's an awesome feature that it brings as it works with the DFS Power Management our processor upgrades support, something no competitor has to begin with.
CPUD is a PowerLogix application and the only upgrades that require it for operation are some PowerLogix G3 Upgrade products - which, btw, also require Xpostfacto for using with OS X 10.4.x since Apple doesn't directly support.
CPUD did not require updates with each version change of OS X until Tiger 10.4.x came out. Apple then started changing the code space CPUD depends on for enabling the Energy Saver interface in each 10.4.x release change. This was not the case with 10.3.x versions of Apple OS X. What has added to delay is starting with 10.4.8, Apple has been very slow to release the Darwin update counterpart which is used for CPUD dev.
We have made no statement concernign CPUD and 10.5 Leopard as we don't know if it will even be possible with Leopard. We need to wait for the final build version and dive in... As there is no longer going to be a Darwin Open Source release of OS X starting with the 10.5 version, it's a little more complicated to say the least.
Sorry for any problem getting this information by phone today - but the information has been noted on the PowerLogix site where we direct customers to get this optional software and as soon as we have 10.4.9 support, that too will be noted on the site and a release made.
