I provided the link to Microsoft's page on EFI so you could read about how they are not fully supporting it yet as background on why there are pretty much no other motherboards that use EFI.
Gateway supposedly shipped the first X86 computer with an EFI based motherboard in 2003. I wonder if Intel version of OS X would install on it. The specs sound similar to the early Intel development models Apple had.
