I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Both Airbus and Boeing have strengths and weaknesses in regard to their designs. The Airbus's appear to have better aerodynamics (and therefore seems more beautiful to me, the Beluga included...at least relative to the Dreamlifter).
And like 'Mint hinted at, there's not much difference in regard to the 'subsidation' between Boeing and Airbus anymore. In fact, it wasn't until Boeing recently outsourced a lot of their work, that they were able to turn the tide against Airbus. As soon as Airbus does the same, most likely the tide will turn again.
