IBM Introduces Power6 Chip @ 4.7GHz
#4
"Big Blue, as previously reported, said it will begin selling IBM p570 Unix servers with as many as eight of the new dual-core chips. The systems will go on sale June 8 for a starting cost of $60,000, an IBM representative said."

Hmm, say 1/5 of the system price is the CPU. Giving them the benefit of the doubt with an 8 socket system being $60,000, the price of a single dual core module is $1,500 or $3,000 for a dual socket system. For $3,000 you can buy a new MacPro with two 3 GHz Core 2 Duo processors and not have to worry about how to cool it.
