I know I've told this story here before, but when I was in college I was part of the campus group that produced all the concerts that performed at the arena. I'm talking some big ticket names- U2 and REM (both before I got onto the committee), but I got to work shows for Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston (blech), the Goo Goo Dolls etc.
The best show we did was Paul Simon's Born at the Right time. Not only did he invite all of us (about 20 students and 2 advisors) to sit down and enjoy the 2 hr. sound check he gave all of us "crew" t-shirts, signed our backstage passes, invited us to eat dinner with him and his 20 piece orchestra AND he so enjoyed the cooking of the woman we hired to prepare his meals that he took her with him to his next 3 performances.
To say that he is a class act is an understatement.
