Who doesn't use iPhoto to manage their image files?
#8
I'm using Bridge. I've tried iPhoto, but I have never liked it, nor do I want to rely on it for reasons already mentioned:

I like knowing exactly where my pictures are, and don't want an edited version here, the original there, all nested into some directory structure that changes with nearly every update of iPhoto.

I have a lot of RAW files since getting a DSLR, and prefer to manipulate them in Bridge. I'm not sure that iPhoto can even handle the RAW files from my particular camera.

I have Extensis Portfolio, but it is now partially useless to me because the version I have (v. 7) can't deal with RAW files, and will not be updated to support them. Thus far I haven't felt that getting that capability would be worth the $99 upgrade price.

If and when I get a new Mac, I will probably be looking at Aperture or Lightroom.
