What type of source cabling?
If it's balanced 1/4" or XLR-esq signal, then longer runs should be fine. If you're running unbalanced (two conductor, audio + ground), then you run the risk of picking up a lot of interference.
What else is in the conduit? Long runs of unshielded line level audio going along next to AC power could be a LOT of interference.
What is the source of the audio? Any chance of going digital? (optical, coax)
How long is the run? Very long runs of speaker-level wires may degrade a good bit and call for higher gauge wiring.
