> why are no 'real' actresses like Meryl Streep even in the top 10?
What's a "real" actress?
Of that list, I think that Nicole Kidman and Jodie Foster might be "real" actresses. I'm not fond of their choices lately, but I give them credit for chops.
I wouldn't say that Streep has displayed any special talent lately. I haven't enjoyed her in any role for quite some time. Looking back over her IMDB profile, the last genuinely engaging role that I saw her in (IMHO) was "Postcards from the Edge" in 1990.
'Seems like these days she's a better narrator or v/o character actress than screen actress.
Does Streep-the-actress really justify the big bucks anymore?
