Doggie Dental Care
#3
I have never given any of my dogs daily dental care, or weekly or monthly, for that matter. I do have their teeth checked regularly during their annual exams and get dental treatment from the vet when recommended to control tarter, although that's not even every year. I understand that allowing their teeth and gums to become extremely bad can lead to general health problems, but all of my guys have lived well past their statistical lifespans, even with my slovenly habits for their dental care. Louie is now five, and the vet has yet to recommend the full blown teeth cleaning procedure, although I'm sure it will have to be done before much longer. Regular dental care at home for pets is one of those things that, if you were going to do it, should have started at the little puppy stage in order to get them used to it. I find it odd that your vet is just now getting around to getting this going.
