I got the MX Revolution after switching to Leopard so there's no "as before."
Everything works.
I don't use the default settings.
Here's how I have it set up...
Right button is set to a right-click.
The Scroll Wheel is set to start in Click-toClick mode.
The Scroll Wheel button makes an ordinary left-click.
Thumb Back and Forward are set to+<-> and +<=> respectively to scale text down and up in web browsers and TextEdit.
Thumb Wheel is set to trigger the Page Up and Page Down buttons.
Thumb Wheel button is set to show the Desktop via Expose.

The fact that your problems continues after switching to 10.4 suggests that it's not the OS at fault.
Try plugging the receiver directly into the USB port on your computer.
