[quote Skoalbandit]MBA is not for everyone. But I know lots of people who travel a lot and just need email, internet, and Microsoft office. Seems pretty perfect for that. They don't even know what a firewire port is. Even the $1800 price tag is not that expensive for a pretty spiffy laptop. Hell I bought a ibook for that much 8 years ago. Power users who use it will always have another computer to do the bigger things.
Give it a year or two and all this tech will be in all the mac laptops. Wonder what the Battery life on a SSD Macbook Air is too.
Yeah, I see the use. The MB Air just got so close for me I could taste it. Just needed a FW port in the form of the non powered 4 pin link for a dvc cam.
On one shoulder I have a 3lb. dSLR with 17-35mm 2.8 lens for about 4lb.
On the other shoulder another 3lb. dSLR with a 3lb. 70-200 2.8 lens.
Now a Sony a1U camcorder that is about 2lb.
If I could shave off weight off the laptop in the backpack it would be great. I am not a young man anymore (the age of my spine) trying my guts out against fresh out of college photographers.
If they could shave 1 lb. off the MBP 15" I am sure I would feel it at the end of the day.
So close. New MBP in a few month so one can always hope.
